evorist.io is a journalism platform currently in pre-launch. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, and how we handle it. We keep it short because we mean it.
We collect email addresses submitted through our launch notification form. We also collect pitch submissions — including contact details, story descriptions, and any information you voluntarily provide through our pitch form. If you contact us through a form on this site — including the form below — we receive the name, email address, and message you provide, so that we can respond.
Email addresses collected via the notification form are used to inform you when evorist.io launches, for pre-launch updates, and occasionally to invite subscribers to participate in shaping the platform through surveys and polls. Pitch submissions are used to evaluate story proposals and contact contributors. We do not use your data for any other purpose.
Email addresses submitted through the launch-notification form are stored with Brevo (formerly Sendinblue), a European email platform that keeps data within the European Union. Everything else you send us — pitch, contact, and privacy/security messages — is end-to-end encrypted in your browser before it is sent, locked to our Proton Mail key so that no one in between — including our own hosting and security provider, Cloudflare — can read it; only our own inbox on Proton Mail (a privacy-focused encrypted email service based in Switzerland) can decrypt it, where it is stored with zero-access encryption. See “Form security” in the footer for what this does and does not protect.
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand how visitors use this site. It is privacy-first and cookieless: it sets no cookies, uses no local storage, and does not fingerprint you or track you across other sites — so there is nothing to consent to. Only aggregated, anonymised metrics (such as page views, referrers, and country) are collected, and no personal data is sold or shared. We also keep privacy-preserving, aggregate counts of app installs and launches — for example how many people install or open our app, broken down only by country and device platform — again with no cookies and no personal data.
You have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of any personal data we hold about you. To exercise these rights, send us a message using the form below. We will respond within 30 days.
We retain notification email addresses until evorist.io launches, after which subscribers will be migrated to our platform mailing list or deleted upon request. Pitch submissions are retained for as long as they remain editorially relevant.
We do not sell, share, or trade your personal data with any third party. The external services we rely on are Proton Mail (our email provider — it hosts and stores the messages you send us in Switzerland, with zero-access encryption), Brevo (which stores launch-notification sign-ups within the European Union), and Cloudflare (infrastructure, security, cookieless Web Analytics, and invisible bot detection via Turnstile). Turnstile analyses browser signals in the background to distinguish humans from automated bots. No personal data is stored or shared as part of this process.

How your pitch, contact & privacy messages are protected
Every message you send through the pitch, contact, and privacy forms is encrypted inside your browser before it leaves your device — locked with PGP to our Proton Mail key so that only our inbox can open it. That is stronger than an ordinary web form, so it is worth knowing exactly what it does and does not protect.
The full content of your message — your words, your name, and any contact details — is end-to-end encrypted to our key. Our hosting and security provider (Cloudflare), the networks in between, and our mail-sending path only ever see unreadable ciphertext. Only our Proton mailbox in Switzerland can decrypt it, and it stays encrypted there at rest.
Encryption hides what you send, not that you contacted us. Still visible to our infrastructure provider are your IP address, the time you submit, the rough size of the message, and which form you used.
There is also one limit shared by all in-browser encryption, including encrypted webmail: the code that does the encrypting is served by this website. We pin and publish our key fingerprints and monitor our published code for tampering — but a compromised or legally compelled delivery of the page could, in principle, target a specific visitor. For anything truly sensitive, minimise what you share and take the extra precautions below.
Share less. Only include identifying details that are genuinely necessary.
Hide your IP with the Tor Browser or a trusted VPN if your network could expose you (you may see an extra human-check).
For an encrypted reply, give us a Proton Mail address — Proton-to-Proton email is automatically end-to-end encrypted — or paste your own PGP public key into the message.
Verify our keys (below) if you want to be sure the page is encrypting to us and not someone else.
